Everyone living, working, worshipping,
attending school in Travis County, or any business in Travis County
is eligible for Capitol Credit Union membership.
Capitol Credit Union's field of membership includes employees of
selected Texas state agencies, attorneys licensed by the State Bar
of Texas and their staff, employees of the Southern Union Company,
members of the Texas Optometric Association and their employees and
employees of businesses and affiliates of organizations that have
applied for and been approved for inclusion in our field of membership.
Family members of any eligible member are also within CCU's field
of membership. Family members include any of the following persons,
whether related by blood or marriage: children, parents, sisters,
brothers, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents,
and grandchildren.
Currently, CCU serves the financial needs of over
15,500 members throughout Austin, Texas, the U.S. and even internationally.
A variety of services are offered to meet the needs of the diversity
represented among our existing and potential members. Because CCU
is a member owned financial institution, products and services are
designed to meet the specific needs of our members. Our staff members
are all attuned to tailoring services to meet each individual's needs.
Once you determine your membership eligibility, you can complete an on-line request to have account information sent to you to begin your membership. To establish membership, open a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5 and pay a lifetime membership fee of $1. After the savings account is opened, you can open additional deposit accounts, apply for loans and take advantage of the many other benefits of CCU membership.
Businesses or organizations can apply to be included as a select employee group (SEG) in CCU's field of membership. The business or organization must be located within a 10-mile radius of any CCU office and can not be affiliated with another credit union. Credit union membership is a no-cost benefit for employers or organizations to offer to their employees or associates. To apply for membership eligibility, complete and transmit the on-line SEG Application . Once CCU receives the application, a CCU representative will call the contact person that you designate on the application to discuss the specifics of offering CCU benefits to the group.
