Duties of a Capitol Credit Credit Union Board Member
A CCU board member serves as a trusted steward of the organization, responsible for guiding its mission and ensuring financial stability. Core duties include:
- Strategic Oversight: Establishing policies, setting long-term goals, and guiding the credit union’s strategic direction.
- Fiduciary Responsibility: Protecting the financial health of the institution and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Membership Advocacy: Representing the interests of the credit union’s members and maintaining a member-first approach in all decisions.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluating the credit union's performance, reviewing financial reports, and ensuring sound management practices.
- Governance and Ethics: Upholding ethical standards, attending regular board meetings, and participating in committees as needed.
