What are the Costs?

  • In person completed card payment fee: 2.60% + $0.15
  • Online completed card payment fee: 2.90% + $0.30
  • International card payments: 1%

How Does it Work?

  1. Tap to Pay: Customers can tap their physical card or virtual card (Apple Pay, Google Pay) directly to the business’s phone.
  2. Payment Links: Businesses can generate and send unique payment links to customers that then allow the customer to pay via their card in a web experience later.
  3. QR Codes: Businesses can display a QR code on their phone screen. This works on mobile, web, and desktop devices.

What Payment Methods are Accepted?

Merchants will be able to accept payments via tap to pay, QR codes, and payment links from all major card networks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

Can the payment link or QR code options be used for recurring payments in addition to one-time payments?

The payment link can be used as many times as desired, so a single link can be used repeatedly for donations or other ongoing payments. However, as of today, there is no functionality to schedule a recurring payment automatically.

What devices or platforms are required to support Tap to Pay functionality? Does it support both iOS and Android?

Tap to pay for accepting card payments is supported on both Android and iOS devices. For iOS, devices must be iPhone XS or newer running iOS 16.7 or later. For Android, devices must be running Android 11 or higher with a functional NFC antenna and chipset. Additionally, payment links and QR codes are supported across Android, iOS, and web platforms.
